Welcome to Room 7s
We have made a rootin' tootin' start to our year and have wildy wonderful behaviour in our classroom. We are an amazing class of 29 exciting and enthusiastic students who are energised about starting the new school year.
We have created our classroom treaty and named it 'Wild West Law'. After a long discussion and plenty of consideration we as a class decided that these were the rules we would incorporate into room 7 in order to have an amazing learning environment. We have all signed it just like a real treaty and agreed to follow the law.
This year the class motto is "In Room 7 we Aim to be the Best in the West!"
The focus is all about working at the best of our ability at all times and within all opportunities in order to reach both our personal and academic goals with support from home and the classroom teacher.
To celebrate those children who stand out there will be Cowgirl/Cowboy of the Week. Keep an eye out in the weekly homework or check out our Wild West display board to see who is striding ahead and being impressive.
In room 7 we have a whole class incentive programme. This is run through the image of Woody and Bullseye riding into the sunset. When our class is on task, organised and relating well to others, Woody and Bullseye ride closer into the sunset. So far we are making great progress!
In room 7 we love reading and writing. Our literacy corner is filled with novels and books for us to read during 'me time' or SSR time. In this corner we also have books that are all about bugs.
This term one of the topics we are exploring is bugs and insects. We are learning about where they live, what they look like, what they eat and who there predators are. Our class has a particular focus on the buzzy honey bee.
